His Excellency General-Secretary of King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” Dr. Saud Bin Saeed Al-Mathami said that Riyadh International Book Fair is becoming national and international event, adding that the stand of King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” has devoted its participation to the children due to the fact that the foundation is concerned with gifted and creative youth and children as well.
Dr. Al-Mathami added : Saudi Vision 2030 is to strengthen the Saudi character and build the local content, and what we have noticed in the book fair and its respective events is that there are numerous creative ideas that participating youngsters have in Mawhiba stand and Misk Foundation and the rest of the participants and these creative ideas resembles the vision in highlighting the role of youth and their growth, he added that : Mawhiba is the national innovation system where it begins with the notion of the student then moves to the judge then to the labor market. That is why Mawhiba has become the starting point for everyone, and the role of the other incubators in the country such as King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (Badir) and other initiatives.
He also pointed out that all previous stages are completed in achieving the goals, clarifying that Mawhiba will organize Saudi Exhibition for Innovation this year in which interested parties will participate, and it will be after the summer season in a new fourth edition.
Secretary-General of King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” has stated that the participation of Emirates as a guest of honor in the Book Fair this year was distinctive because of the convergence of cultures between both countries, pointing that the Book Fair is changing every year to the best. On the other hand, the culture of children was distinguished.
He added: Ministry of Culture and Information has succeeded in focusing on children and youth because as His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman has indicated that the percentage of youth who are under the age of 30 represents 70%. As for the strategic goals for Mawhiba he stated: there are a set of goals that we seek to achieve like: working to assure the scientific distinction in the content and activities reflected in Mawhiba initiatives, supporting and conducting high-quality research in the field of innovation and creativity ,developing the policies regarding the talent and creativity at the level of the Kingdom and also supporting translation and creation in the field of creativity in order to enrich and spread documented scientific knowledge as well as value, enhancing the presence of local and international talent through organizing and participating in events and workshops.
