The Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad Begins in Belarus

With the Participation of 8 Gifted Sons and Daughters

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by King Abdulaziz Foundation & his Companions for Giftedness & Creativity, is participating in the competition of the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, which is held in Minsk, Belarus. During the period from 6 to 13 Shaaban 1439 AH, corresponding to 22 to 29 April 2018.

This is the sixth participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a record of several previous participations and winning of seven bronze medals and a certificate of appreciation.

This year, the Kingdom is represented by 8 gifted students from various educational districts: Abdulrahman Fayyad Al Idris, Bader Salman Al Mulhim, Ali Mohammed Al Asmari, Bandar Ahmed Al Harbi, Saleh Ibrahim Al Twaijri, Mohammad Hashim Al Khuraisi, Rabab Ali Al Rafiqi and Osama Mohammed Al Ali.

The Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad is considered the most difficult scientific competition in chemistry in terms of the level of questions and the method of competition. The main language of the competition is Russian, where the questions are translated into English and then to Arabic. The competition is theoretical and practical.

The competition has been held for more than 51 years, and is attended by about 22 countries from developed countries in this area, and 140 students from many countries.
