At the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Mawhiba Launches a Scientific Forum to Prepare the World’s Youth for the Future Majors


king Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba” today organized a scientific forum entitled "High Impact STEM Programs: Success in Measuring the Global Challenge" in Paris, in cooperation with the International Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the participation of elite experts in the fields of giftedness and creativity.



The symposium highlights the role of the gifted in meeting global challenges and the requirements of sustainable development for creative industries that support the global economy.


His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Saeed Al-Mutahmi, Secretary General of Mawhiba, expressed in his speech that Mawhiba sought to expand the international exchange of good practices in the field of STEM education and contribute to the expansion of these successful programs around the world, as factors driving the progress of civilizations through history.


He pointed out that the new generation faces many future challenges, and that only 62% of the global human capital is being developed, which means a neglect and waste of 38% of the world's talent. He also warned of the great global change in future jobs, and that by 2022, about 54% of employees need to be rehabilitated and refined, to meet the demands for high cognitive skills that include creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, which require strengthening educational systems, and stimulating creativity and innovation among all students.


For his part, Deputy Executive Director of UNESCO Sheng Qiu stressed the importance of this forum, attention to the gifted, and supporting the talents, expressing thanks to the Kingdom represented by King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity for their willingness to cooperate with UNESCO. He also expressed his admiration for the Foundation’s approach and its strong impact on male and female graduates.


A number of Mawhiba graduates participated in a dialogue session during which they showed how their lives were affected by the various Mawhiba programs. Abdulaziz Al-Ghunaim, a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and owner of Tarjemlee Company (used by the UNESCO) in San Francisco, USA, mentioned that Mawhiba programs changed his life and offered him many opportunities that made its impact up to tens of thousands of humans.

Dr. Sally Krisel, former State Director of Gifted Education in the United States, said she was stunned and amazed at the level of Saudi students in Ibda’a competition. While Dr. Najah Ashri, a senior associate to the President at KAUST, pointed out the need to invest in gifted students, prepare them to meet the challenges of humankind, and valued the strategic partnership between Mawhiba and KAUST.

Mr.Simeon Brodsky of Director, CTY International at Johns Hopkins University, Center for Talented Youth ,highlighted the importance of developing innovative thinking, problem solving, science ethics and knowledge in science education.


Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, member of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Educational Performance, spoke of the necessity of international cooperation and investment in promising abilities and directing distinguished minds to the scientific fields.


Mawhiba-UNESCO Forum sought to achieve, inter alia, the development of creativity, the development of educational systems and policies in the fields of science, technology and innovation on a global scale, strengthening the  cooperation with stakeholders, and the empowerment of building diverse and global networks in the fields of education.


Mawhiba Opens Registration to Prepare Students to Joining American Universities

 King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba” opened the door to enroll in the Main Track of Tamayuz Program to apply to prestigious American universities, for male and female students of the eleventh grade. Registration starts from 1 October to 12 November 2019.


The program aims to prepare students for admission to the top 50 US universities in the world. 


The program is carried out in cooperation with specialized consulting companies and lasts for a whole year starting from the second semester of the 11th grade until the student gets an admission to the university before graduating from highschool.


The program enables the student to meet the admission criteria at the best American universities and helps them to be recognized among thousands of applicants around the world. The program also provides advisory services scheduled throughout the year to guide and support students during their journey to study at the university of their dreams. In corporation with the Ministry of Education, the student have the opportunity to get Mawhiba Scholarship if the student receives an admission to one of the prestigious American Universities. Male and female students are nominated  to one of the scholarship agencies e.g: 


King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and Aramco, this is the sixth phase of Tamayuz Program, which, through its five phases, has served 231 male and female students during which 95 male and female students were admitted to the best American universities.
