His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman “The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Encourages Development and Supports Creativity”

HRH Sultan Bin Salman to the Gifted Students:

- “Your message to the world: drop the differences, planet Earth has room for co-existence”

- “We witness, among these gifted persons, scientists and space-sector leaders”

- “Saudis’ capabilities are enormous, and they cannot be compared with any other neighbouring countries”

His Royal Highness, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Commission, emphasized the importance of hard work to contribute to placing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its legitimate position at the forefront of the developed countries. He also stressed that the Saudi citizens have great abilities and skills making them distinguished and able to attain accomplishments for the good of Home’s present time and future, with the support they receive from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who encourages development and creativity. ​

Upon receiving several gifted students yesterday, In the presence of His Excellency Dr Saud Al-Mathami, Secretary-General f  King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity Mawhiba and Dr Nasser Al-Aqili, Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation at Ministry of Education; His Highness clarified that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has never been traditional or a replication of others throughout its history.

His Highness showed that the Saudi Space Commission is working on founding a stimulating and enabling organizational environment for the space sector to be a platform from which economic and scientific paths are launched, in cooperation with all partners, indicating that the National Space Strategy is ready and will be presented to the recently-appointed Board of Directors of the Commission to be evaluated and  before submitting it to the government for final approval.


 

Moreover, His Highness has emphasized the importance of the message the gifted students will convey on behalf of their country to the world. This message says that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country of peace and is the country of the Two Holy Mosques.

This came yesterday, during his patronage of the first meeting of the Consultative Committee for “Ajyal” Program. His Highness hosted the members of the Professional Committee and urged them to effectively participate in the program to achieve its goals after the completion of the arrangements and procedures for its establishment, pointing out that the Committee forms one of the tools of “Ajyal” Program that is important to achieve its goals represented in listening to students’ suggestions and opinions to teach, support and motivate the Saudi youth to learn space-science and its numerous fields along with learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics-related to space.

His Highness indicated that the Saudi Space Commission is keen on benefitting from the potentials and abilities of the ambitious youth in the various academic levels to participate in: enriching the program, raising awareness, and motivating the Kingdom’s students to take part in programs, exhibits, and forums related to space and its science, in addition to participation in producing ideas, proposals and projects related to space, and participation in knowing the obstacles encountering students in fields of space and its science.

On the other hand, Dr Saud Al-Mathami pointed out the importance of the partnership between the Saudi Space Commission and Mawhiba, indicating that the directions issued by His Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman emphasized the importance of starting to enhance human capital for the future, in the field of Space. That is why the first agreement with Mawhiba was signed from which “Ajyal” Program emerged, which will soon send 10 of the gifted students to NASA.

At the end of the meeting, His Highness handed the students’ certificates of their appointment as members in the advisory board of “Ajyal” Program, which aims at building and developing qualified and promising national cadres in the field of space followed with an open discussion with the students.
