​The Governer of Riyadh Honors the Winners of the Grand Awards In The National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity“Ibda 2020”

HRH honored 27 male and female creative students in a ceremony at King Saud University.


 

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Governer of Riyadh, honored the winners the finale of the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity “Ibda’ 2020” during the closing ceremony that was held in King Saud University in the presence of His excellency, Minister of Education Hamad Al-Sheikh, and His excellency Dr Saud Al-Mat’hami, the Secretary-General of King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba”.

The Governer of Riyadh honored 18 female students and 9 male students who won the rewards of the Olympiad organized annually by Mawhiba in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The student Wod Ra’ed Al-Sadoun won the first place, Yousouf Ahmed Al-Rabiah and Dema Moubark won the second place. The third place was rewarded to Asil Medhat Boukhary, Lana Abdullah Al- Turkestany, Ibrahim Mouhamed Al-Dlijan, Beshir Abd-El Ftah Al-Djany, Nouran Hussin Alim, Noura Fahd Al-Amry. The fourth place was for Mouhammed Tarek Al-Amer, Randa Talal Al-Dosary, Abdullah Mouhammed Al-Sanan, Mounira Saleh Al-brahim, Ranim Sultan Al-Mansori, Thara’ Tarik Al-Dabagh, Abdelmalek Mouhammed Al-Harby, Mody Majed Al-Marzoky. The fifth place was achieved by Shoug Faisal Madani, Lana Fahd Al-Abasy, Layan Zaid Al-Hamshy, Lama Abdelrahman Jarrad, Rakan Sultan Al-Ramyan, Mohannad Ahmed Al-Nakhly, Yousif Bakr Al-Siddiq Al-Twaijry, Dan Mouhammed Al- Yafiy, Rinad Emad Abu Al-Faraj and Zina Tarek Maimany.


 

Through a press release after the coronation of the winners, the prince of Riyadh stated that “First of all, I am surrounded by innovation and creativity by both: the ceremony and the winners. Today, everyone is creative. The execution and sponsorship of King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba”, that reached this great level in such a short time, and the Ministry of education, that has been blessing our country with creativity every year.”

His Highness addressed a parental message for his students who participated in the Olympiad saying, “I am proud to be with them today, and I am blessed by this amazing group of boys and girls who made us proud and created a leading position for our country.”

He concluded by saying that the happiness of this country is continuous by the citizens and lands until hopefully reaching the top.

His highness took a tour around the fair of the finalists of Ibda’ Olympiad 2020, and he examined the projects of Students. He praised the scientific research projects that represented the reality and simulates to the future. He also witnessed the signing of the agreement between Mawhiba and King Saud University.

The Minister of Education Hamad Al-Sheikh welcomed the sponsor of the ceremony, the distinguished guests of their highnesses and excellency.

Dr Al-Sheikh stated that Saudi Arabia is full of wonderful creative minds requiring educational sponsorship, support, and encouragement, to innovate and present their innovation to others. Indicating that the Ministry, with the ongoing support of the proper leadership, has worked and is still working on preparing native talented and idealistic students.

The Minister of education pointed out to the partnership between the Ministry of Education and Mawhiba foundation is mainly to serve the gifted and talented people, as a supporting idea for progress and prosperity in the society of giftedness and creativity in Saudi Arabia, supporting a knowledge-based economy, and creating an attractive environment promoting creativity, as exemplified by National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity "Ibda’ 2020", organized annually by both the Ministry and Mawhiba. On every cycle, we get surprised by the numbers of creative projects, in which reflects the homeland wealth of human capital, with their ability to be brilliant and distinctive with the passion for science, and that entrenchment in the perceptions of both Students of our dear kingdom.

The Minister then congratulated the winners, their schools, their teachers, and their supporting and motivational families. In conclusion, he expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul-Aziz, Governor of the Riyadh region, for his sponsorship and presence in the closing ceremony of “Ibda’ 2020”. He also thank the participants and those who are behind the fair. 


 

His Excellency Dr Saud bin Saeed Al-Mat’hami, Secretary-General of “Mawhiba”, emphasized in his speech that the Kingdom celebrated its first centenary of the homeland in 1999; the 100th anniversary for the unification of the Kingdom by the founding father King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman, may Allah rest his soul in peace, and coinciding with these ceremonies, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, may Allah rest his soul in peace, declared the establishment of Mawhiba, as a non-profit endowment foundation, named after its founding King, to contribute and participate in the comprehensive national renaissance, and completing the constructional and developmental contract, through discovering, nurturing, supporting, developing and empowering talented people, in a sustained pursuit of building generations of future leaders, makers and pioneers of change.

His Excellency added that Mawhiba has emerged in two decades, having its race against time and supported by the wise leadership to work with talented & gifted people and both local and international leading institutions, spreading a noble message, looking for discovery and sponsorship for the talented people in the fields of science, engineering and technology.

At the end of his message, the Secretary-General of Mawhiba thanked everyone who participated in the organization and success of the Ibda Olympiad 2020, congratulating the winning students, participants and organizers, and wishing them all success and prosperity.

It is noteworthy that the finalists of the "Ibda'" Olympics included 151 Students competing to win its prizes. Representing 25 educational departments, they presented 72 projects for male students and 79 projects for female students, spanning 21 diverse fields of science.
