20 Students Undergo a Qualifying Program to Participate in the ISEF-International Science and Engineering Fair

​ Trained by A Team from Mawhiba prior to their departure to Anaheim,Ca - the United States


 

20 Saudi students (males and females) underwent training workshops and a qualifying program held by King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. These workshops aim at qualifying them to participate in the most important scientific and international competition, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, ISEF in the United States, next May. The students will compete with 2000 Students representing 90 countries.


 

Currently, the students are developing their scientific projects and researches according to the guidelines given by the arbitrating and the scientific committees during the training workshop, which was held yesterday in Mishkat Interactive Fair to qualify and train them on presentation and public speaking skills under the supervision of specialized academics. Moreover, individual meetings with members of the scientific and arbitrating committees were held to review the projects, provide scientific support along with the tools and skills required to compete for the rewards of Regeneron ISEF 2020 to honorably represent the Kingdom.

The Students participating in ISEF 2020 were nominated after participating and winning in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, Ibdaa’ 2020, which was held by King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhiba” and the Ministry of Education.


 

14 female students and 6 male students were nominated to represent the Kingdom in Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. They represent the education departments: the Eastern province, Riyadh, Mecca, Jeddah and Ha'il. The list of the female students includes: Wod Al-Sa’doun, Dima Al-Mulhim, Asil Bokhary, Shouq Madany and Lama Jarad from Al-Jama’h secondary school in Khobar,  Nouran Alem from 19th secondary school in Mecca, Noura Al-Omary from Al-Faisaliah Islamic School,  Mounira Al-Ibrahim from Al Tarbiyah Al Islamiyah Schools,  Ranim Al-Mansoury from Al Hussan National Schools in Dammam, Moudhi Al-Marzouki from Riyadh Schools, Thra’ Al-Dabagh from Secondary gifted school,  Randa Aldousary from Second Secondary School in Dhahran,  Lana Al-Abasy from 18th Secondary School in Jeddah and Layan Al-Hamshy from First Secondary School in Hail. The list of the male students includes: Yousouf Al-Rabia’ from Manarat Alriyadh National School, Ibrahim Al-Dulaijan from Al Manarat National School in Al-Khobar, Abdullah Al-Sanan from Al- Dhahran National School, Rakan Al-Rumyyan from Al-Faisal Secondary School, and Yousif Bakr Al-Siddiq Al-Towaijry from Riyadh National Schools.


 

The Kingdom’s students aspire to continue the national achievements and keep the advanced places achieved through their participation in the competition. Since its first participation in 2009 to 2019, the kingdom’s achievements in this competition amounted to 48 grand awards and 27 special awards .


 

Also, through its participation, King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity “Mawhib” provided 79 special awards to the projects in the fields of the fourth industrial revolution.
