3 Awards in European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad

Three Saudi female students achieved advanced positions in the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad which was held in the Netherlands from April 16 to 20, and implemented remotely, due to the outbreak of the emerging Coronavirus.

 

The competition witnessed the victory of three students. Thana’a Khalid Mohammed Al-Haidari, from Umm Salamah High School in Makkah, received a silver medal. Jude Bahwini from the Quran Memorization School in Yanbu Industrial City received a bronze medal. Lara Raed Jameel Manqal from Dar Janaa International school in Jeddah awarded with a certificate of appreciation.

 

The Kingdom team participating in the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad underwent many intensive training programs to develop their scientific skills, and students were nominated to participate in the Olympics based on the results achieved in the training forums held by "Mawhiba" in cooperation with its partners.


 It is noteworthy that the Kingdom participated in the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad since its inception, and competed for the prizes of its first sessions in 2012 in the United Kingdoms, and received during these competitions 15 awards that included two gold medals, 4 silver medals, 6 bronze medals and 3 certificates of appreciation.​
