​ The Kingdom Wins First Place in Mathematics Olympiad and Raises its International Wins to 400 Achievements

In a new national achievement, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved first place in the second Arab Mathematics Olympiad 2020, by the winning of 4 Saudi students from public education students trained by the King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba", thus raising the achievements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the awards of international scientific competitions To 400 achievements, and the Kingdom raises its balance from the awards of the International Arab Olympiad in Mathematics to 7 medals.

 
The students won 4 medals; (Two gold and two silver), in the second Arab Mathematics Olympiad 2020 organized by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (Department of Education) in partnership with the Education Office for the Arab Gulf States, in coordination with the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture.

 

 
Student Hamza Ibrahim Al-Shaikhi from the Makkah Education Department achieved a full score of 40/40 and a gold medal, and had previously achieved 4 international gold and 3 silver medals with Mawhiba, and student Marwan Muhammad Al-Khayyat from the Makkah Education Department achieved a full score of 40/40 and a gold medal, who had achieved 9 international medals with Mawhiba; two gold, two silver, and 5 bronze medals, and student Khalid Walid Al-Jabri from the Makkah Education Department who won a silver medal, and he had previously achieved 3 international medals with Mawhiba; two silver and bronze medals, and the student Muhammad Hussein Al-Debaisi from the Eastern Education Department, who won a silver medal, and he had previously achieved 3 international medals with Mawhiba; two silver and one bronze medals.


The Kingdom, represented by Mawhiba, participated in the Olympiad under the supervision of the Ministry of Education with a team that included 4 students, namely: Marwan Al-Khayyat, Hamza Al-Sheikhi and Khalid Al-Jabri from the Makkah Education Department, and Muhammad Al-Debaisi from the Eastern Education Department, who received more than 3000 hours of training over the four last years.

 

 
The Olympiad witnessed 50 outstanding students in mathematics from 13 Arab countries compete through an exam that included problems in geometry, number theory, algebra and combinations.
This is the Kingdom's second participation in the Olympiad, whose first edition was hosted by the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate in 2018, in which the Saudi team won three medals and in which 13 Arab countries participated.
