Education & Training Evaluation Commission and Mawhiba Sign a Cooperation Agreement

To develop curricula standards and programs for gifted students and professional licenses for their teachers


 

On Monday, January 11, 2021, the Education & Training Evaluation Commission “ETEC” and King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” signed an agreement of mutual cooperation at the headquarters of the Commission in Riyadh.WhatsAppImage2021.jpeg


 
His Excellency the President of the Commission, Dr.Husam bin Abdulwahhab Zaman, on behalf of the Commission, and from “Mawhiba” His Excellency the Secretary General of “Mawhiba” Foundation, HE. Dr. Saud Al-Mathami signed the agreement.
 
The two parties agreed that the effective cooperation towards achieving their two missions and mutual benefits is a national responsibility in which everyone's efforts will join for the development of humanity and society, as well as for achieving the nation's vision to reach a productive, scientific and knowledge society. 

 
The agreement stated, the ETEC shall prepare and implement the computerized and paper-based tests and standards required by “Mawhiba” Foundation. Mawhiba shall share and benefit from the professional development programs, training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences implemented by the Commission.

 
The agreement also stated the contribution of “Mawhiba” Foundation in the developing of curriculum standards and multiple gifted education programs, as well as their implementation and evaluation, and developing the professional license standards for the teachers of gifted students and for those who are nurturing gifted students. Moreover, it will contribute to the development of standards for accrediting institutions and schools that sponsor giftedness and creativity and their application, as well as the development of the program standards for preparing and approving teachers of the gifted students.

 
The two parties agreed that “Mawhiba” shall obtain the licenses approved by the Commission to carry out the evaluation, measurement and accreditation for the programs and agencies providing services for nurturing the gifted students. “Mawhiba” Foundation shall also work with the concerned authorities to develop policies and legislations related to the gifted and distinguished students in all stages of public and university education.

 
The agreement included sharing knowledge between “Mawhiba” Foundation and the Commission, providing consultations, exchanging experts, cooperating in research projects, and scientific studies, and exchanging available research materials and equipment. 

 
The cooperation between the ETEC and “Mawhiba” Foundation is a part a cooperation framework to implement an initiative to review the general framework project for evaluation and school excellence in the Kingdom for developing gifted education standards. This is because the Foundation seeks to discover and nurture gifted and creative students in the scientific fields, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the system for identifying gifted and creative students. Whilst the Commission is the nation’s source in the evaluation, measurement and accreditation of education and training through the development of curriculum standards, conducting tests, evaluation, institutional and program accreditation in education and training, and issuing professional certificates and licenses.
