Mawhiba Brings to the Country 5 International Awards

​​​The Saudi Physics Team Increases the Kingdom's number of international achievements to 413. The students of the Kingdom, who were trained at Mawhiba in a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, bring to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince and the Country 5 medals; one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. The students won these medals in Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad 2021, among 116 male and female students, representing 11 countries. Such Olympiad was held remotely due to the Corona pandemic on May 7 and 8 in the Republic of Estonia. It is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. Therefore, the Kingdom’s number of international achievements in the international scientific competitions is 413.

 

Ahmed Al Muhanna, from the eastern area education department, had won a gold medal. He has been a Mawhiba student for 6 years and has participated in 14 training camps and 6 intensive camps. Moreover, the student received more than 3,000 training hours, and won two medals; one gold and one bronze in the International Physics Olympiad.


On the other hand, Al-Qasim Sangali, from Makkah Al-Mukarramah education department, won a silver medal. He has been a Mawhiba student for 6 years, during which, he received more than 3,000 training hours, and participated in 14 training camps, and 6 intensive camps. He won silver and bronze medals in the International Physics Olympiad, as well as a Certificate of Merit.

 

While, Hassan Mohammed Al Lail, from Eastern area education department, received a silver medal. He has been a Mawhiba student for 5 years, during which he received about 3,000 training hours, and participated in 11 training camps and 5 intensive training camps. Sadiq Al-Abbad, from Riyadh education department, won a bronze medal. He has been a Mawhiba student for 4 years, during which, he received more than 3,000 training hours, won a silver medal in Kangaroo Mawhiba Competition, and ranked the first position in the Electrical Engineering course at King Saud University.


Hussein Adel Al-Shamasi, from Eastern area education department, won a bronze medal. He has been a Mawhiba student for 4 years, and participated in 11 training camps and 6 intensive camps. He received 3,000 training hours, and won a gold medal in Mawhoob Competition 2018.

 

The Kingdom’s participating team included 8 students: Hussam Muhammad Ashour, from Jeddah education department. The student has been a Mawhiba student for 5 years , attended 12 training camps and 5 intensive camps. He received more than 3,000 training hours, and won a special award in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity “Ibdaa” Olympiad 2021, Ahmed Nabil Al Muhanna, from Eastern area education department, had joined Mawhiba for 6 years, participated in 14 camps and 6 intensive camps. He received more than 3,000 training hours, and won two gold and bronze medals in International Physics Olympiad, Hussein Adel Al-Shamasi,  from Eastern area education department. He has been a Mawhiba student for 4 years , and has participated in 11 training camps and 6 intensive camps. He received more than 3,000 training hours, and won a gold medal in Mawhoob Competition 2018, Jawad Bahaa Al-Saif, from Eastern area education department, has joined Mawhiba for 4 years, participated in 5 training camps, and 3 intensive training camps. He received more than 3,000 training hours.


Al-Qasim Sangali, from Makkah Al-Mukarramah education department, has been a Mawhiba student for 6 years, participated in 14 training camps and 6 intensive camps, during which he received more than 3,000 training hours. AlQasim won a silver and bronze medal in International Physics Olympiad, and a certificate of merit in the European Physics Olympiad, Sadiq Bin Abbas Al-Abbad, Al-Rowad National Schools, from Riyadh education department, has been a Mawhiba student for 4 years during which he received more than 3,000 training hours by participating in 5 training camps and 3 intensive training camps, Sadiq has won a silver medal in Kangaroo Mawhiba competition, and ranked first position in the Electrical Engineering course at King Saud University, and finally Lama Abdul Rahman Al-Ahdal, fromJeddah education department, has been a Mawhiba student for 4 years and participated in 5 training camps and 3 intensive training camps, during which she received more than 3,000 training hours, and participated in Mawhoob Competition 2018.

 

HE. Dr. Saud Al-Mathami -Mawhiba Secretary General of King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" affirmed that the continuous support - provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince - may God protect them - to the giftedness and gifted students - has produced distinguished results for the country by winning 413 international awards, and achieving higher results than the developed industrial countries.

 

HE. added, “Mawhiba's children have received high training and preparation since joining Mawhiba. They attend programs and courses within a complete journey for each student, with more than 19 different initiatives, to ensure their fostering and empowerment to participate in the future industry. This is to be active partners in achieving the Kingdom's vision 2030.”The Secretary General said that “Those students gave the country and its leadership - may God protect them, on Eid al-Fitr day - such victory by their international honorable representation of the country.”

 

The Kingdom’s participation, represented by Mawhiba Foundation and the Ministry of Education in the international competitions and forums, is a part of a complete journey and an integrated system in Mawhiba Foundation called “The Talented Student Journey”, which includes several initiatives; such as: Mawhiba Classes, academic and research enrichment summer programs, mentorship, innovation and enrollment programs in elite international universities, provided after school and in the summer. These programs ensure the students are well prepared to compete and win in the international participations and represent the country appropriately.The Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad allows each member country to participate with 20 competitors, while each guest country is allowed to participate with a specified number of competitors.

 

It is noteworthy that the Saudi gifted students have won 408 international achievements during the past 10 years. Therefore, the Kingdom’ number of international achievements has become 413, and they are made during a long journey of training and preparation undergone by the students in programs and camps held by King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba". The student are trained on various skills that enable them to represent the Kingdom in an honorable manner, make achievements and successes, compete with students of developed countries in scientific fields, and surpass and beat them.​
