Mawhiba wins Stevie Award for efficient dealing during the Covid-19 Pandemic

Mawhiba crowns its efforts with winning the Gold Stevie Award for the Middle East and North Africa


King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba" won the “Stevie" Award in the Middle East and North Africa in the category of response to Covid-19 Pandemic, which is the category dedicated to honoring institutions and companies that dealt positively and efficiently during the pandemic and provided their services to the community.

H.E. Dr. Saud bin Saeed Al Mathami, Secretary General of Mawhiba Foundation, extended his warmest congratulations and compliments to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and H.H. the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense - may Allah protect them - for the generous support and great guidance provided to “Mawhiba" Foundation, which drove it to have the most comprehensive approach in discovering, sponsoring, educating and empowering the gifted people all over the world. This resulted in being awarded such a prestigious global award that embodies the position of Saudi Arabia as a cornerstone on the cognitive world map and in the field of giftedness and creativity and as a beacon for those looking to excel.

“Mawhiba" Foundation applied to obtain the award with a profile showing the efforts made by the Foundation to continue providing its services to gifted educational practitioners during the Covid-19 Pandemic. 

H.E Secretary General of Mawhiba said: The Covid-19 Pandemic prompted Mawhiba to consider the opportunities resulted from this pandemic and to work to turn them into a leap towards the future. What has been adopted by Mawhiba during the Covid-19 Pandemic reflects its development and keeping pace with the latest modern technology.

H.E. Dr. Saud Al Mathami indicated that during the period of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Foundation's programs and the quality of its approaches have not been affected, but rather expanded in its activities, and the number of beneficiaries of its programs increased, which has been reflected in the results achieved during the participation of Mawhiba's students and the representation of the KSA in global scientific competitions, and obtaining 57 medals in 2020 and 52 medals in 2021, winning 96 awards in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity 2021 and 8 major global awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States of America 2021.

He also indicated that during the Covid-19 period, Mawhiba applied a methodology for digitalization, quality control and development to continue providing its services to gifted students, as the Foundation is keen to continue providing its programs, taking into account the health of students by applying all precautionary measures, in order to ensure the safety and well-being of students, explaining that since the beginning of the pandemic, Mawhiba provided its services to more than 10000 students in 2020 and more than 11 thousand students in 2021. It also organized training programs for 5 thousand teachers as part of the professional development program to provide them with the skills, tools and strategies required to educate gifted students as part of their preparations for the various programs of Mawhiba.
Dr. Al Mathami stated that through the program of Mawhiba Classes, the Foundation devoted its efforts to create a high-quality educational setting, through a partnership with distinguished public and private schools and selection of specialized teachers, which also leads to raising the level of quality of education provided to other students in these partner schools, as during the period of COVID-19, 6712 students joined Mawhiba (online) classes in 2020 and 2021. 

“Stevie" Award is considered one of the most prestigious awards for the world's leading business. It was established in 2002 to recognize the achievements of businesses in all their aspects worldwide, as it became one of the most coveted global awards. 
There are eight programs of the Award distributed over the regions of the world, including one dedicated to the Middle East and North Africa. It is available to all businesses and institutions of 17 countries. It is supervised by a specialized jury of executives, businessmen, creators and teachers, among the most respected and appreciated people worldwide. It includes annually more than 200 arbitrators.
