​What is the Mawhiba Classes Program?

 
The Mawhiba Classes Program is implemented by the General Directorate of School Partnership. It is one of the programs sanctioned by Mawhiba as part of its plan to achieve its strategic vision by 2023. This program targets several public and private schools with distinct qualifications in terms of infrastructure, teaching methods, assessment methods, learning methods, and teacher qualifications and training. The execution of this program entailed cooperation with the best educational expertise in the targeted stages (from the fourth elementary grade to the third secondary grade). 

 

 
What do Mawhiba Classes mean?
It means partnerships with distinguished high-quality schools to provide full or partial scholarships to gifted students who are identified through The National Program for Gifted Identification. Mawhiba Classes started in 2010/2009 at only three cities, which are (Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam), and it continued with an expansion plan, bringing the number of cities covered by Mawhiba Classes to 9 cities.

How are students chosen to join the Mawhiba Classes Program?

 
Gifted students are selected through The National Program for Gifted Identification, which is an independent program for student selection by applying the (MMCA) Test in partnership with the National Center for Measurement and Evaluation (Qiyas).

 

 
How students be nominated to join the Mawhiba Classes Program?
  • Schools nominate a number of students who have shown giftedness characteristics by filling the "teacher nomination form for the student" for each candidate student. If a student receives three such nominations that make him/her eligible to take the test.
  • Self-nomination is also available by the students themselves or by their guardians, by filling the application form to participate in The National Program for Gifted Identification. 
  • Nominated students by their schools or self-nominated are students from their schools or self-nominate will take the (MMCA)Test at specific times and locations.
  • After announcing the final lists of identified gifted students, they enter into the distribution system to choose the schools within the program which they wish to attend.

 

 
When will the (MMCA) Test result be announced? And how the students will receive their results?

 
  • The result takes no less than one month to be announced, where it undergoes auditing and reviewing by Qiyas in the first phase. The next phase will be applying the criteria for sorting the accepted students to ensure a fair distribution according to the available program, this process done by the "National Program for Gifted Identification". 
  • ​Each student will be informed via the SMS service stating that the result is available on his/her personal account on Mawhiba website using the civil register number to retrieve the result.

 
What are the conditions for a student to join the Mawhiba Classroom Program?​
  1. The student must be a Saudi nationality or has a Saudi mother.
  2. The student must be enrolled in the current academic year of the targeted group.
  3. Passing Mawhiba Multiple Cognitive Aptitude Test, that held in cooperation with Qiyas Center.
  4. Filling out the application form, which requires the following:
      •  Read the FAQ.
      • Confirm looking the registration instructions, which includes acknowledgment of responsibility declaration for the validity and accuracy of the provided information 
      • (The program management has the full right to take any action it deems appropriate in case of any invalidity in the provided information by the student.)
      • Ensure providing the student civil registration number, and the full name is correct as it is on the family card.

 

5. the student must be living in the program city.

6. If not completing the registration procedures within the specified time, the student will be excluded from the program.  


 


What are the fees for joining Mawhiba Classes Program? 

Fees depends on the type of scholarship a student receives. There are two types of scholarships:​

  • ​Free scholarship for a period of 3 years, offered in the first intermediate and/or first secondary grades in some partnership schools, based on the student's score.
  • Discounted scholarship up to 50%, offered in all grades at all partnership schools, in this scholarship parents will bear the remaining amount of the fees after the reduction.


 

Is there any financial support provided by Mawhiba for the student?

Mawhiba provides financial support to students benefiting from the social security program according to its approved mechanisms, which is an amount that is determined later and is not considered a substitute for tuition fees. ​


 


Who are the partners with Mawhiba?

  • A number of selected partnership schools in the targeted cities (the parents will be provided with the list of these schools if their child has been chosen).
  • ​The National Center for Assessment (Qiyas).

 

 
Which curriculum are taught in Mawhiba Classes Program?
In addition to the curriculum adopted by the Ministry of Education, students study the and Mawhiba Advanced Supplementary Curriculum (ASC) in Math and Science.


Is the program implemented in person or remotely?

The program is implemented with the same mechanism used in public education and according to the decisions of the Ministry of Education.

 


What is the annual Mawhiba test?

It is a test that is carried out at the end of the school year with the aim of ensuring that students benefit from the program, and its degrees are not included in students 'general achievement, but if students' poor performance in this test continues for two consecutive years, they may be excluded from the program.

 


Should the current program student re-register every year?

The student must re-register in the event of his transfer from the elementary stage to the intermediate stage or from the  intermediate  stage to the swcondary stage, but in the event that he moves between the classes of the same stage, he does not have to re-register, but rather he/she is continued automatically.​
