The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), has achieved an unprecedented international scientific achievement; through its participation with its students in the Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad, which was virtually held. The Kingdom's students won 7 Medals and 3 certificates of appreciation; thus the Kingdom achieved 15th place in the competition out of 337 students representing 38 countries, in an unprecedented achievement over the participation of the Kingdom's students in the competition that was first held in 2011.

All Kingdom's 10 students participating succeeded in winning advanced awards in the competition; 3 silver medals, achieved by each of the students:

Khalid Al-Ajran, Marwan Al-Khayyat, and Hamza Al-Sheikhi, and 4 bronze medals won by each of:

Nawwaf Al-Ghamdi, Muhammad Al-Shehri, Salman Al-Mutrash, and Moaz Al-Ghamdi, in addition to winning 3 honorary medals and certificates of appreciation for student Thana Al-Haidari, and the two students Ahmed Al-Bahrani and Muhammad Al-Debaisi.

Mawhiba also achieved during this participation the highest rate of its participating students, with a score of 133, which is the highest score achieved by the Kingdom ever throughout its participation in the competition.

Mawhiba, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and its other partners, trains talented students from public education to participate in International Olympiads in the fields of mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, science, and informatics, by providing more than 1,200 training hours for the participating students annually, enabling them to compete internationally. This training is provided by international and local distinguished trainers in different fields of science.

It supports students and enables them to demonstrate a good level commensurate with the training that takes place through camps, some of which are virtually held, while others are held with partners throughout the year at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and King Saud University.

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom's participation in the Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad first began in 2011 and achieved the 22nd place. Then, participants took place over the following years, so that the Kingdom achieved 18th place during the competition session that was held the last year 2019. Thereby, the Kingdom made a big leap through Mawhiba students' achievement during this year to overlap 3 places in the overall ranking of the participating countries.

During its participation in the Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad from 2011 to 2020, Mawhiba achieved 35 medals, including 3 gold, 8 silver, 31 bronze medals, and 31 certificates of appreciation. This is added to the Kingdom's international scientific achievements that have been achieved since Mawhiba was assigned to prepare the students of public education schools to participate in the international Olympiad, where the Kingdom has achieved more than 365 medals and special awards.
