King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and
Creativity “Mawhiba", today, Tuesday, 22 December, 2020, entered into an agreement with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, for Mawhiba to join to the National Network of Intellectual Property Support Centers. Intellectual Property (TISC). Thus, Mawhiba is considered one of the (26) centers of the National Intellectual Property Support Network (TISC).
Mawhiba was represented in the signature by Dr. Basil Al-Sadhan, Deputy Secretary-General for Gifted Services, and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property in the signature, Eng. Sami Al-Sudais, Vice President for Intellectual Property Policies and Partnerships.
Basil Al-Sadhan, Deputy Secretary General of Mawhiba, said in his speech, "The Foundation seeks to create an environment conducive to giftedness and creativity, and to enhance passion for science and knowledge to build future leaders."
He added, "Mawhiba found that this national initiative from the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property achieves one of the objectives of its mission, which enables it to access and benefit from technical and scientific expertise, and to provide assistance in researching and analyzing intellectual and technical property databases, in addition to raising knowledge about the advantages of intellectual property rights in general and obtain information on patents in particular."
Al-Sadhan said, "the aim of joining the network of intellectual property support centers is to achieve the lofty goals of Mawhiba and expand the services provided to its participants and students, the most important of which are assistance in searching services in intellectual property databases and technical information, researching prior technology, and contributing to awareness-raising activities concerning the intellectual property rights of its students and its participants, and participating in developing the research results of the scientific participations that Mawhiba students make during local and international competitions.
Al-Sadhan added, "In addition to other counseling and support services designed according to the needs of Mawhiba students and participants, the most important of which are guidance and guidance on intellectual property, which contributes to enabling the innovation process as a whole, from the birth of the idea to the marketing of the patented product, and the guidance and direction of intellectual property rights, such as the use of patents., industrial designs, trademarks, and copyrights.
The Deputy Secretary General of Mawhiba expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property for its pioneering initiative in establishing this network and supporting the same to achieve its ultimate goal, God willing.
His Excellency Engineer Sami Al-Sudais also welcomed Mawhiba's accession to the National Network Of Intellectual Property Support Centers, which enables users to acquire the technical skills necessary to search in intellectual property databases, raise awareness of intellectual property systems and benefit from the training programs provided, which is reflected in the services provided to innovative students and participants of Mawhiba.
