in 6 scientific fields

More than 800 male and female students from King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" completed Mawhiba After School Enrichment Program 2021, which was held remotely, during the second semester for middle school students, and lasts for eleven weeks. It began this year.

During this program, the gifted students who are participating have a training of two days each week, with an average of 45 training hours, by experienced trainers in the enrichment units. Those students were prepared according to the best distance education strategies and tools, and the latest technologies; such as: virtual labs, and classroom assessment to enrich the students' experience, and give them an experience simulating the in person programs.

Mawhiba After School Enrichment Program included six enrichment units, as follows: Future Doctor, Computer Programming, Future Engineer, Water in Life and Energy, Crystals, Polymers, and Journey from Molecule to Organism. The training on some units was provided in English and Arabic.

The program is an opportunity to develop the students. Its cognitive content is based on four scientific courses, from which the enrichment units are designed by the best international experts in giftedness and creativity, and experts of John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.

The program aims at enhancing students' cognitive experiences and deepening their level of knowledge. It continues Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program, which is implemented every year during the summer vacation. The program targets the middle stage students of the public schools, who have previously enrolled in the National Program for Gifted Identification, and have achieved a cut-off score on Mawhiba Multiple Aptitude Test (MMCAT).

The implementation of the program coincided with the expansion of Mawhiba Foundation in the application of its enrichment programs, following its success in implementing training and distance education, through the e-learning platform that serves the gifted students in all regions of the Kingdom.
