International Science and Engineering Fair, ISEF
The Kingdom, represented by King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" and the Ministry of Education, is participating at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This exhibition is the largest scientific fair for competition in the field of scientific research for the pre-college level. The fair hosts nearly 1,800 participants from more than 75 countries around the world.
This competition is organized by the American Society for Science & the Public Corporation, sponsored by Intel until 2019. The sponsorship moved to Regeneron in 2020.
This competition started as a local competition in 1950 and then became an international competition in 1958. The competition is held annually in mid of May in the USA, and the venue of the exhibition varies from year to year.
The participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia began in 2007 based on the agreement between King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Society for Science and Society (SSP).
Participation in International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF):
A qualifying workshop is being held for all the grand award winners of Mawhiba Science and Engineering Fair "Ibdaa", to select projects that represent the Kingdom internationally in the International Science and Engineering Fair "ISEF".
